Interestingly, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, much like the Immortals—the most elite units of the Persian Empire—is replaced by better-trained replacements even when the Immortals lose their lives in battle. It's as if the system of the 2500-year-old empire is still ongoing, and it's impossible to abolish it because no matter how many you kill, a better one always replaces them.
