IRGC
Iran's Revolutionary Guard is warning that any ship crossing the Strait of Hormuz without its permission "will be dealt with."
The IRGC says the only authorized route is the one Iran announced, calling any other crossing "unacceptable and extremely dangerous."
It also dismissed a newly announced lane from "certain authorities," a shot at Oman, which a day earlier set up temporary shipping lanes through the strait with the UN's maritime body.
It all circles back to fees.
Iran wants to charge ships what it calls maritime service fees, while the U.S. says it's an international waterway and Rubio has flatly ruled out any tolls.
